BIKE RENTALS ACCESSIBILITY HOME ABOUT US CONTACT 2011 TOURS BLOGS NEW

We understand you may be concerned that the tour you are considering may be more than you are comfortable with.
We’ve done all these tours and we have a simple rating system to guide you
ACCESSIBLE 1
A tour with level to easy climbs, mostly off-road and car free at
6 -12 km/hr with
frequent stops. Ideal for people with disabilities
EASY CITY 2
We tour on flat ground with some small hills on mostly little travelled streets, bike lanes or trails. We may encounter streetcar or rail tracks, and slight exposure to roads with light traffic. We travel at 8-12 km/hr and make frequent stops. Ideal for families where children have some knowledge of bicycle rules.
EASY MODERATE 3
These tours are mostly traffic free with few climbs with some small exposure on roads with light traffic or bike lanes at 12-15 kms an hour with frequent stops. On multi-day tours your luggage is sent ahead daily to the next guesthouse/hotel.

We want to put you into a tour suited to your abilities

MODERATE 4
We travel at 12-15 km/hr average mostly on lightly travelled streets, bike lanes or trails. There may be some exposure to streets with moderate traffic. We may have to bike up some hills. On multi-day tours you have the option to send your luggage ahead to the next guesthouse/hotel.
LIGHT DIFFICULT 5
You may have taken a moderate tour with us before. You are confident in light to moderate road traffic although we travel mostly on trails, lightly travelled roads and bike lanes. We try to keep to a 15-18 km/hr average and can sometimes expect short steep hills where you may have to walk your bike. Tour will go ahead in light to moderate rain so dress accordingly. We ride with loaded panniers unless you elect the light ride option.
DIFFICULT 6
You have considerable experience with bicycle tours and are well equipped with spare tubes and foul weather gear. You are in excellent physical condition and have a tour bike that is well maintained and reliable. You will bike up the hardest hill even when your tour guide walks. You are willing to ride during any weather and stay where ever the tour guide says, including in the middle of a forest. Of course we ride with loaded panniers and cook many of our own meals.
ADVENTURE 7
You are comfortable doing a difficult tour, and are willing to ride for long distances like the idea (100-120 kms a day) at 15-18 kms/hr. We carry our own bags and cook our own meals and stay at unreserved guesthouses or Bed and Breakfast establishments.
SUPER ADVENTURE 8
You like the idea of an Adventure 7 tour but prefer to camp. Breakfast at dawn and into a campsite before sunset. Stealth or wild camping may be involved
